On June 12, 2014, the US Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service announced that it is extending the deadline for school districts to elect to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). School districts now have until August 31, 2014 to notify their state agency for the 2014-2015 school year (the previous deadline was June 30, 2014). State agencies must accept elections submitted on or before August 31 and are strongly encouraged to accept elections after that date as well.
