The Rural Trust Global Teacher Fellowship supports teachers to develop an independent learning experience that broadens their own personal perspectives and teaching approaches. This year's group of Fellows are investigating such diverse topics as alternative energy, art and architecture, the historic effects of various wars, and environmental issues; they are exploring a range of intercultural and language experiences and learning about the schooling and curricular approaches of other countries.

The 2014 Fellows, some of whom applied as teams, represent 21 rural schools around the U.S. In addition to the travel fellowships, the Fellows will participate in place-based learning workshops provided by the Rural Trust.
